Dear Friend,
Elisabeth D. Babcock Spring in New England is a time of extremes—violent storms, balmy days, and the fierce struggle of all things to grow and thrive. Just when you think that the soil has finally warmed and the seeds in the ground can begin to sprout, another storm hits. But for those tenacious flowers that manage to weather each storm, they bloom all the more brightly when spring finally comes. The women in our programs are just like those flowers. They have weathered every storm imaginable. And yet, they persevere. Through our housing programs, they find a safe and comfortable place to live. In our education programs, they build the skills and knowledge they need to work. In all of our programs, they find the resources and support they need to thrive. As Nezra Sandy, one of our program participants said recently, “I am very hopeful because I know I am embarking on a career that will pay enough to support my family and help us build a secure future.” Thanks to your help, Nezra and her family are on the path to security and self-sufficiency and will be able to flourish in the future. This spring, I’m asking you to join Nezra and other women like her in planting the seeds for future success by making a donation. Your support is critical to the success of the women in our programs.
